With a variety of possibilities to explore the atoll life, just let us know where your interest lies, and we’ll guide you on how to spend your full-day or just for a couple of hours. Our experienced staff are well-informed on when it’s the best time to see manta rays, whale sharks and other sea life. They’ll also show you how to explore with respect for your surroundings, and even how you can help with the upkeep of the island’s unique environment.

Ukulhas is fortunate to be surrounded by several lively snorkelling and diving spots, and Ari Atoll is famous for its magnificent marine life. Let our guides lead you to the best places, starting from the beach or by tak ing a boat trip to see a variety of stunning sea life such as manta rays, sharks or turtles, as just a few examples.

Another option is to take a dolphin safari, search for whale sharks that are enjoying their days resting in shallow waters or observe octopus in their daily routines. Our staff have intimate knowledge of the Ari Atoll marine life.

You may be interested in island hopping to experience local culture, a trip to a sandbank with packed lunch, or a BBQ picnic on a deserted reef. Kayaking or sub boarding are both lovely ways of spending a sunny day around the island, and in the evening it is nice to gather to play beach volleyball. With a wide variety of fish, you could try your luck with fishing and then have our chef prepare your catch for your dinner. For more serious fishing, Maldives has some remarkable deep fishing locations. Give it a try whether you are a beginner or professional fisher interested in big game fishing, popping or jigging and later have your catch prepared by our chefs for your dinner. You can rent or bring your own gear.

Ari Atol Island hopping

Ari Atol has several beautiful local islands. We can show you the local culture and the way of life in other island. They are accessible with a speedboat. walk around and have a coffee / lunch in one of the local restaurants. The trip will take four hours, so you will still have plenty of time to explore.

Thoddoo island tour

Tour a local agriculture island teeming with fruits and vegetable plantations. Get to know the local community and how they grow plants in the island. A boat ride to Thoddoo will take about 30 minutes, and you can walk around the island with a local guide.

Popper fishing, Jigging

Popping is a technique which involves casting and retrieving a type of surface lure called a “popper” to attract fish. Designed to mimic the common baitfish, poppers come in many shapes and colors, often made from wood or hard plastic. The mouth of the popper is shaped like a hollow cup to create resistance along the water surface when retrieved; this resistance creates a popping sound, drawing the attention of curious fish.You can use poppers on conventional as well as fly fishing gear. Some anglers use a variation using stick baits instead. Freshwater anglers like to pop for bass, while saltwater anglers go popping for various trevally species, tuna, coral trout, grouper,

Our captain will take you to the best fishing spots where you can try your skills and luck. We have all the equipment you need, but if you wish to bring your own. You are also allowed to take one fish with you and we can help prepare it for dinner.

Morning fishing

Start your day fishing while enjoying the sunrise. It is cool in morning time. Morning and night fishing are suitable for children over 10 years old. If you like, you can make an arrangement with the chef to cook your catch and enjoy a lovely dinner.

Sunset fishing

Night fishing is an adventure that everyone should give a try while visiting Ukulhas. Hook some reef fish while the sun goes down. This is a short fishing trip using the hand lines and raw fish as bait. Night fishing has been practiced by the Maldivians for generations. This is a perfect way to spend an unforgettable evening with family and friends and if you are lucky, you may get some delicious reef fish on your dinner plate!

Sandbank visit

A trip to a beautiful sand island in the Indian ocean provides a different kind of experience while you are in Maldives. Relax, snorkel or feed some fish around the coral reefs. For larger groups we can arrange a picnic as well for a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Whaleshark seeking safari

Swimming with whale sharks in the Maldives is something everyone must do at least once in a lifetime. A harmless and majestic sea creature, living in the depths of the ocean, the whale shark is reputed to be one of the largest fish in the ocean. In Maldives, you can spot whale Sharks swimming through the currents while gulping planktons. Our Captain will bring you to the southern part of the Ari Atol in search of them. They are in the ocean throughout the year, however, There is no guarantee that they will come to the surface while your boat is present. Our kitchen staff will prepare a nice lunch for you, which you can enjoy while exploring the whale sharks.

Dolphin safari

Maldives is ranked among of the top 5 best dolphin watching spots in the world. Dolphins roam around the sea for almost the entire year. They are most frequently seen in the morning 9-10:30am and in the afternoon 3-5:30pm. So take this into consideration while planning your safari! The boat will depart after breakfast and bring you back in time for the lunch. If you wish to take a dolphin safari in the afternoon, please don't hesitate to contact our reception. A useful tip—don't spare the applause, they like it and might even do some stunts for you when you encourage them; being the centre of attention is in their nature!

Manta Ray safari

Ukulhas is located in a central location teeming with Manta rays. There are several feeding and cleaning stations where they can be seen, when you are on a 15-minute boat ride. The best time to see them in groups is from November until May. It is also possible to observe these magnificent creatures during the low season, but only at selected spots. Our professional crew will advise you on the probability of seeing them.

Snorkeling from the beach

There are several good spots around the island to go snorkeling from the beach. If you are lucky, you can see sharks, turtles, stingrays and other wonders of the sea. You can borrow the fins, mask and snorkel from the hotel, but remember to return them after you are done. Always consult the hotel staff before going out to the sea. It is safe to snorkel in front of the hotel is a safe area for snorkeling.

Snorkeling boat trip

The trip will take you to three different points to experience the beautiful under water life. Safety is our priority and our professional captains will make sure that everyone enjoys the journey. Timing during the trip is flexible, therefore, if you want to stay longer snorkeling, it can be arranged depending on the boat availability. Minimum age for snorkeling is 10 years. After the snorkeling trip, the boat will return to the harbor.
